WLC 300: WLC Major ProSeminar
This course introduces students to the majors in Japanese Language and Culture, Spanish or World Language and Cultures. Students acquire knowledge and understanding needed to fulfill Major Learning Outcomes for the programs. Students identify and work with a major advisor to develop individual learning plans. The course examines opportunities in related professional and career paths, including graduate education and teaching credential preparation. (Offered fall semester.)
As expressed in the course description above, the purpose of this class was to help us understand what requirements we needed to fulfill in order to graduate. We developed an e-portfolio (this website), personal statement, and a resume. We were introduced to our advisor, with whom we made an ILP, which basically lays out what classes you need to take in order to fulfill the Major Learning Outcomes (MLO's). We also learned about possible future career options and studying abroad. This course was very useful in clarifying the necessary steps that we needed to take in order to successfully graduate.
